Our staff has worked diligently with the University of South Carolina Aiken administration, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to follow all the best practices and protocols. To that end, we have obtained permission to seat up to 50% of our Main Stage capacity—350 people. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is undoubtedly a challenge to the performing arts — practitioners and audiences alike. It has affected the ever-shifting landscape for theatrical, music, and dance companies. Unfortunately, many artists are canceling or postponing their tours; thus, we must be flexible as schedules change. The one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to providing quality and diverse professional productions. We have already had to make a couple of changes to the lineup and anticipate more. The Syncopated Ladies, scheduled to perform on November 16, have postponed their current tour. We are working with their management team to reschedule them during our 2021-2022 season. If you have already purchased your tickets for this event, those will be honored at the rescheduled date. We were also disappointed to learn that the Aquila Theatre canceled their tour of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde , scheduled to be here on February 9. We are thrilled to announce that replacing that production will be a concert by the Grammy-nominated group, Trey McLaughlin & the Sounds of Zamar. Known for their fresh adaptations of contemporary gospel, pop, and musical theatre hits,” they have become international sensations. We are incredibly excited to have them perform for our audiences. As the upcoming Cultural Series gets ready to kick off in October, we look forward to having you safely join us for a fantastic season.
